Video to Text

Extract existing captions here, or continue video transcription in Genooi.

Existing caption tracks only. No automatic speech recognition is started here. YouTube is not supported.

Existing captions or speech transcription?

A public video can already have a subtitle track. MoiMobi retrieves that existing text without starting speech recognition. When no caption track is available, transcription must continue in Genooi with an account.

Review and export available text

Read the returned captions, search for a passage, copy the text, or save a TXT file. SRT and VTT exports are available only when every segment has a valid start and end time. Source language and partial-result notices remain visible.

Local video files

MP4, WebM, and MOV selection is checked locally against Genooi format rules. MoiMobi does not upload the file. Continue in Genooi and select the file again to review the available transcription options and account limits.

Video to Text FAQs

Can I convert a public video link into text without uploading a file?

Yes, when the media service returns an existing caption track for a supported public link. MoiMobi lets you read, search, copy, and export that caption text. This is caption extraction, not a new speech-recognition job, and YouTube links are not supported.

What happens if my video has no available captions?

The page shows that no usable caption text was returned and offers a link to continue in Genooi. Transcription there requires sign-in and its own processing terms. MoiMobi does not silently start speech recognition or manufacture a transcript from the video title.

How do I transcribe a video stored on my computer?

Use the local file option to check an MP4, WebM, or MOV recording, then open the video-to-text tool in Genooi. You must select the file again after sign-in. The MoiMobi file picker checks format only; it neither uploads your recording nor transfers it through the link.

Can I export video text as TXT, SRT, or VTT?

TXT exports the text actually returned by the service. SRT and VTT are available only for a complete result with valid start and end times for every cue. A partial result is labelled as partial and cannot be exported as a timed subtitle file.

Does selecting a caption language translate the video?

No. The language preference requests an existing track in that language if the source provides one. It does not translate speech or captions. The returned language and caption source, when supplied by the service, help you check which track you received.

Will video-to-text read words shown inside the video image?

This workflow reads available caption text, not text embedded in video frames. On-screen slides, signs, and burned-in subtitles are not extracted with OCR. If a video has no separate caption track, the public-link flow cannot turn those visible words into editable text.
